Well Done Sars!

The Sars Senior Hurling team visited us on Monday with the Seán Óg Murphy cup that they won in their defeat over Glen Rovers on Sunday 12th October. The score line on the day was Sars 2-18 to 8 points. The proud captain on the day was Tadhg Óg Murphy, and he is a past pupil of our school, along with many others on the panel. Tadhg Óg scored 1-1 on the day, sealing the victory for his side. When Tadhg Óg spoke to the pupils on Monday he thanked all the kids that came out to support them at the final. He really appreciated the support the kids gave the team on their big day. He encouraged everyone to keep training with their school and club and said that one day they themselves might be back to Brooklodge with the cup! He thanked Mr. Eoghan O’ Connor and Mr. D. O’ Connor who trained him when he was playing Sciath Na Scol here. Well done to all involved and a big big thank you to the hurlers for coming to visit us at Brooklodge!

Up Sars!

Last week we were visited by the Sars Camogie Team who were the winners of the County intermediate Championship for 2014. They beat Brian Dillons from Mayfield on a score line of 2-14 to 1-5 which means they will play at Senior B level next year. Past pupils of Brooklodge NS on the team include the captain Emer Fennell (O’ Farrell) who has also won numerous All Ireland medals with the Cork Senior Camogie Team, Chloe Casey who is the current Cork Minor Goalkeeper, Emma Casey, Lauren Casserly and Nicole Hickey. Miss J Murphy was also playing and Miss E Murphy cheered the team on from the sideline. We hope she’ll be back training with us in the new year! The team were overwhelmed by the level of support on the day of the match, from many young future Camogie stars who are going to school in Brooklodge!

Football Blitz

Thanks to our GAA coach Niall who organised a football blitz between the four parish schools. An enjoyable day was spent developing our football skills in preparation for the parish cup.
